Dr. Jorge Carrera, M.D. , is a board Certified Internal Medicine Physician who specializes in Preventative Medicine and uses a more holistic approach to his primary care practice.  He is also knowledgeable about Nutrition, Herbs, Functional Medicine and Anti-Aging Medicine. He is an authority on Natural approaches to Medicine.  He studied Medicine at the University of Illinois and Internal Medicine at Loma Linda University.  He is the co-founder of the Carrera Wellness Center .

Dr. Carrera believes in a integrated approach to medicine.  This is why he shares his office with his wife who cares for spiritual/mental/emotional part of the healing process. 

Dr. Carrera was born in Lima, Peru and came to the United States in 1971. He received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from California State University of Northridge in 1981 and in 1985, his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois. His internship and residency was completed at Loma Linda University in 1989. He did a one year fellowship in Cardiology at Loma Linda University in 1990.

He is one of the few doctors who is going back into private practice to give more personalized care to his patients and to focus on what is truly important in medicine, good health, vitality and longevity.
